In order to meet the growing needs of clients, additional counselors began to join the practice. The practice has now grown to include three offices; the main office on Pasadena Blvd in Pasadena, a satellite at 617 West Sterling in Baytown, and a satellite office in the The Commons on Lake Houston. Steve Christopherson has recently assumed the practice as owner and CEO.

Wondering where the peaceful, loving relationships of childhood went with your teens angry words, slamming doors, poor grades, risky behavior, or non communication? Feeling out of control in how you discipline your young children who don't seem to listen or respond to what you asking them to do? Call me. I have had 30 years experience working with both children and adolescents as a teacher, school counselor and administrator. I help my clients gain control of his/her environment allowing self esteem and affirmative choices to follow. I also work with parents helping them bring loving, discipline and peace, to their family dynamics.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. I offer a personalized, private program which teaches specific ways to control responses to anger. Just like having a personal trainer at the gym, I serve as an anger management “personal trainer” who will jump start you to mental health. This is ideal for someone who doesn’t do well in a group setting...or who wants to learn anger management in privacy. If anger is the first response you have to stress or a problem, everything you have tried so far isn’t working or your relationship/job is in jeopardy, you need help.
To be function successfully with ADD/ADHD as a child or an adult requires special skills which I teach. Also, parenting a child with ADD/ADHD requires special care and understanding. I educate parents in specific ways to assist these children.
My practice is multi-specialty. I enjoy the challenges of change. I love traveling, reading and gardening (but my tomatoes usually need help!). Recent honors include a Fulbright-Hays seminar study of the cultures of our neighbors: Mexico and Canada. A Christian, I am married, a mother and a grandmother.

Once I was Director of a Psychiatric Unit – I learned a lot, mostly from the patients. I’ve worked in business, industry, healthcare, politics, military and education and decided that we are all so much alike with just enough differences to keep it interesting......and that no matter the setting, often, it’s not the situation, but what we tell ourselves about it that determines how we feel and what we do.

We all face challenges in our lives. None of us are perfect parents, perfect children or perfect spouses. It is okay to seek out help and perspective from another person, especially a professional. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001. I have worked with children, adolescents and families since being an intern in 1999. I love helping people get through challenges and helping them get to the next level of their lives.
I have a background in working with those with substance abuse and various parenting and family issues. My favorite quote is "Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future." There is nothing more true than that.
